Build games use Roblox’s normal discovery ecosystem. AI generation does not receive special ranking preference; publication, discovery and sustained player interest are different outcomes.
No automatic AI ranking boost
Roblox’s Build announcement places Build games in the same retention-based discovery pool as other games. A prompt, publish action or capture upload is not a guaranteed route onto Home.
The general discovery documentation separates candidate retrieval from personalized ranking. Traffic from other sources can help a game be considered, but Home ranking evaluates behavior from players who organically arrived through Recommended For You. Do not mistake an external promotion spike for proof that the Home ranking signals improved.
Recommended For You signals
Roblox currently groups the recommendation signals by importance. These are official priorities, not a public numeric ranking formula.
| Priority | Signal | What to examine |
|---|---|---|
| Most important | Play Through Rate | Whether viewers enter after seeing the game on Home |
| Most important | First Play Bounce Rate | Whether first-time players leave after a short session |
| Most important | Play Days per User | How often players return on different days |
| Most important | Playtime per User | How long those players spend in the game |
| Important | Intentional Co-play Days | Return play with friends through intentional social joins |
| Important | Qualified Play Sessions | Meaningful sessions rather than accidental clicks or quick bounces |
| Important | Spend Days | How many days players choose to spend Robux |
| Important | Robux Spent per User | Spending per player rather than a total-player-count contest |
For several repeat-play, time and spending signals, Roblox shows D1, D2–7 and D8–28 views. Compare the same window and acquisition source. A strong first day with weaker later windows may suggest a return-value problem; that is an editorial diagnosis to investigate, not a guaranteed explanation.
Where to see Home Recommendations
Open Creator Analytics → Acquisition → Home Recommendations. Compare impressions and plays with the signal charts, starting with the most important group. See the Analytics guide for access requirements and a starter dashboard.
Distribution can also change with Roblox’s systems, seasonal audience activity and other games. Wider exposure can bring a less concentrated audience, so one temporary play-through dip does not establish failure. Similar-game benchmarks provide context; they do not set ranking.
Why recommendations can be reduced
Roblox’s discovery guidance warns about metadata led by giveaways or monetary rewards, metadata that misrepresents the actual game, and highly non-unique games or metadata resembling existing titles or place files.
Use your own name and imagery, show the real loop and avoid irrelevant keywords. If the preview promises a fast arcade round but the game opens with a lengthy unexplained menu, repair the mismatch before changing promotion again. The game-types comparison helps make the promise concrete.
Moments: capture a real interaction
Build Support describes recording gameplay during a playtest using the capture feature, then adding the game to Moments. Follow the controls, audience and moderation requirements shown for the account. The playtest guide keeps the current Playtest documentation conflict visible.
Build Creator’s practical recommendation is to capture a real action with a readable result: a puzzle solved, a clean dodge or a completed collection goal. Do not present an imagined feature as current gameplay. Moments does not guarantee approval, reach or player conversion.
Gameplay Videos on Home
Roblox has announced a full rollout of gameplay videos inside Recommended For You on Home. Upload through Creator Hub → Place settings → Videos. After approval, the video is eligible to play on Home; eligibility is not guaranteed placement.
The official guidance calls for real, current in-game footage that makes the core loop clear within the first few seconds. Only show features players can use now. Avoid cinematic or dramatized footage, promotional text, real-life footage, voiceover/narration and music with lyrics.
Roblox shared positive test results from selected games. They are directional test results, not guarantees of future traffic, playtime or income. A video should accurately set expectations before you judge its performance.
Improve before promoting
As Build Creator editorial guidance, test the first minute without explaining the game aloud. Check whether the player finds the goal, performs the first action, reads the feedback and understands the next step. Use bad-generation corrections for one observable mismatch at a time.
After publishing, make a focused Build-chat update and compare the relevant analytics. Check sample size and source mix before attributing a change to the update or video. Neither a new dashboard nor a new clip guarantees ranking movement.
