Before tapping Publish
Run a final playtest and verify:
- The player can understand the goal.
- The core loop begins, progresses and ends correctly.
- Controls and interface labels are readable.
- The game contains no disallowed or unintended content.
- A private tester can complete the main loop without creator guidance.
Use a private playtest link when another person’s perspective is needed.
Publish and safety check
Tap Publish. Build performs a quick safety check before release. If the check identifies an issue, revise the game through Build chat and try again; do not look for a moderation bypass.
After publishing, Roblox says the game appears on the creator’s profile.
Initial audience
New Build games are initially available to age-checked players age 16 or older, with some regional exceptions. Eligible games may go through Roblox Select review for players ages 9–15. Roblox does not guarantee eligibility, acceptance or a review timeline.
Build games are not available to Roblox Kids ages 5–8. The 16+ guide explains the current audience model.
Discovery without guarantees
Moments can help showcase a Build game, and Roblox says more discovery features are planned. Ranking still uses Roblox’s normal retention-based discovery system.
There is no guaranteed placement, traffic level or ranking benefit for AI-generated content. Design for a clear first session and improve the game from real playtest feedback.
Common problems
- Safety check fails: use the reason shown to revise and retry.
- The game is not visible to younger players: the initial audience is age-checked 16+, subject to regional exceptions.
- Discovery is low: no placement is guaranteed; focus on player experience rather than repeated low-quality generation.
- Studio edits changed the rating flow: complete the required content and maturity questionnaire.
