Read the result before changing anything

Build’s safety check should identify what needs attention. Record the message, return to Build chat and make the smallest change that directly addresses it.

Do not replace the whole project before confirming whether one scene, object, text element or prompt request caused the block.

Revise and retry

  1. Read the safety-check message completely.
  2. Identify the content or behavior it points to.
  3. Ask Build for a specific compliant revision.
  4. Playtest the revised project.
  5. Tap Publish again.

Requests involving disallowed age-inappropriate content or third-party characters and brands may be rejected. Use original content and follow Roblox’s Restricted Content Policy and Community Standards.

If Studio was used

Changes beyond prompting, including custom code in Studio, can remove Build’s automatic Moderate rating. In that case, the creator must complete the content and maturity questionnaire before publishing.

Review editing in Studio if the project has crossed that handoff.

What Roblox has not promised

Roblox has not published a universal safety-check duration, guaranteed approval result or discovery outcome. A successful publish also does not guarantee ranking.

Common problems

  • The message points to branded content: replace it with an original character, object or setting.
  • The same check fails again: verify the requested change actually appears in the latest playtest.
  • Publishing changed after Studio edits: complete the maturity questionnaire workflow.
  • The game published and was later removed: read the moderation notice and use the appeal guide.
