Roblox Build and Moments

Build Support describes recording gameplay with the capture feature during testing and adding the game to Moments. Use that documented path only where the relevant testing and capture controls are actually available. Official sources disagree about Playtest availability; a capture instruction does not resolve that conflict for your account.

Objective

Prepare an accurate Build gameplay clip using the documented capture path where it is available.

Before you start

  • Have a playable behavior worth demonstrating.
  • Check the actual testing and capture controls rather than assuming access.
  • Keep audience and publication requirements separate from recording.

Steps

  1. Choose the action and result the clip should communicate.
  2. Confirm the current project and captured version.
  3. Use the documented capture action if available during testing.
  4. Review the footage for misleading edits or private information.
  5. Check the intended destination and current sharing controls before submitting.

Verification

  • The clip shows an action that exists in the current game.
  • The visible result follows from that action rather than a misleading cut.
  • A missing capture control is recorded as unresolved.
  • The share note does not claim that clip publication changes game audience eligibility.

Limitations

  • The official Playtest documentation conflict remains unresolved.
  • This guide does not establish account-specific Moments access or distribution.
  • A documented capture path is not proof that a clip was successfully published.

Working notes

Choose a small event worth showing before recording: a readable goal, the player's action and the visible outcome. The point is to communicate what the current game does, not to use a video as a substitute for generating or repairing the game.

Confirm the recording represents the version you intend to share. A clip from an older working copy can mislead even when it is genuine footage. Keep the project identity, captured behavior and destination together in a private note so they can be checked before publication.

If the documented capture path is missing, record which control is absent and consult the current workflow and account requirements. Do not substitute an unofficial recorder that asks for credentials or infer that a future announced Moments integration must already be available.

Review the clip as a new viewer. Can someone see the objective and what caused the result? Remove private account information and avoid implying an unavailable mode, audience or reward. Sharing a clip is a separate decision from the game's publication status and audience access.

Examples

  • Hypothetical clip plan: show the parcel pickup, the route to the marked destination and the actual delivery confirmation. Keep the complete causal sequence instead of cutting directly from the start to a success message.
  • Capture note: project identity / version observed / action shown / outcome visible / capture control available or absent / intended linked destination. The note describes the clip, not an assertion that every viewer can join.
  • Missing-control result: testing is available but the expected capture action is not visible. Stop at that observation and check current guidance; do not report the recording-and-sharing workflow as completed.
