Roblox Build Playtest Will Not Start

If a visible Playtest action will not start a session, distinguish selection, acknowledgement and arrival in the game. Record the last stage reached and any notice. Do not repeatedly activate the control or edit game rules before a playable frame has appeared.

Symptom

A visible test action is selected but no usable game session is reached.

Immediate action

Trace selection, acknowledgement, destination and game-frame arrival without repeated activation.

Diagnostic branches

The control is absent or disabled.
Use the visible availability or restriction information rather than this launch procedure.
Selection produces no observable acknowledgement.
Retain the interaction context; do not assume a loader started.
A destination opens with a restriction notice.
Preserve the notice and follow legitimate access guidance.
The game frame appears but its Start action fails.
Treat launch as reached and move to gameplay input diagnosis.

Least-destructive change

Keep the current project and trace intact instead of replacing content or repeatedly launching uncertain operations.

Retest

  • The actual action and last successful stage are named.
  • A game-frame arrival is not confused with successful gameplay.
  • Any comparison uses an existing authorized path and does not claim an internal cause.

Escalation

Send the specific launch sequence and exact error through official assistance when unresolved; omit private account credentials and do not invent a timeout diagnosis.

Working notes

This case begins only when the control is actually present. If it is absent, use availability guidance instead. Record whether it is enabled, whether selecting it produces visible acknowledgement, and whether the interface remains at the source or moves to another destination.

An acknowledged action followed by a loading view is not the same as an action with no observable response. Preserve the visible sequence and exact error. A spinner alone does not identify network, server or project corruption, and there is no supported universal waiting interval supplied by this guide.

When another destination opens, inspect that destination's actual state. An account or audience notice belongs to access guidance. A game frame with an unresponsive Start control belongs to in-game interaction diagnosis. This prevents a successful launch from being mislabeled because the first game action is broken.

If a comparison is safe and already available, use an existing project through the same opening route. Record both outcomes without creating another game or purchasing a test. A working comparison narrows the report but does not prove the failing project's internal cause.

Examples

  • Sequence: visible enabled action → selected → loading view → explicit error before any game frame. Keep the error and launch context; do not report a failed movement rule.
  • Different sequence: action → game frame → title panel → Start does not respond. The launch arrived in the game, so investigate the Start interaction separately.
  • No comparison available: preserve the single-project trace. Missing comparison data is preferable to paying for a new project merely to complete a worksheet.
